Fred's, (Used to be Barb's), Board

We have lost the interest of many members. Also, in spite of several solicitations for new members to write to me to join the Board, Not one has taken up the offer. I know quite a few people read the Board from my web site statistics. If a significant number step forward and email me asking to become members, I will do my best to keep it open.

My email is <fred@fredwilliams.ca> Unless you're a bot, you're welcomed to write to me. I'm going to leave this up for about a week, and if there is not sufficient interest, then this board will close at some point not long after that time.

It used to be "Barb's Board." The Barb it referred to was Barb Underhill, of Underhill and Martini fame. It was comletely hers, and she asked my to moderate it for her, back when the world was a simpler and better place. It's pretty heady stuff when someone famous sends you an email and calls you her "Board Master." "Moderater" would be more accurate.

When Barb finally gave it up, I had about 150 people emailing me and all saying that they didn't want to loose touch with each other, & "How can we keep this going?" That was when I started my own Web Site and with Barb's permission I called it,... well what you see it as today. There are many fond memories associated with the Board,... unfortunately, as my memory fails, there's not as many as there used to be. Nevertheless, it will be a sadness to know that it's finished. So please write in and participate in the Board, or it won't be here much longer.

I'm sorry to hear this Fred and I hope the Board doesn't shut down. It's really puzzling why there are so many views of posts but so few members. I hope those people finally join. There are so many people who have 'disappeared'. Thanks for all your work Fred.

Thank-you Kitty. That's why I put out the call for more people to sign up. Hopefully I would have got some emails, but it's been over a week now and not one person has emailed me about joining the Board. I believe now that the time has come to wind up the Board and I will archive the postings so that people can read what has been posted here. I want to wait till after World's, because I think that should be covered and a couple of days more for results & reactions. Then it would be foolish to close it on April 1st, so I'm thinking of April 2nd sometime around noon, there will be no more posts accepted I'll try to post some sort of an announcement that the Board is archived for any other visitors. All currently available posts will be retained, (unless I make a horrible mistake -- I'll be careful).
Even when I stopped posting regularly, it was still nice to know that the board existed and that a few of my friends were here. So it is a tug on my heart strings remembering all that we have shared over the years, from the first time Barb asked me to be her "Board Master." A neat term for "Moderator" of course. I treasure everyone who has been a member here. Blessings for you all.
